Tame Impala fans can stop praying to their shrines of Kevin Parker, because he’s gone and done it. Tame Impala are back with ‘Patience’, their first new song since they released a crop of Currents b-sides in 2017.

We’ve been expecting new music for a little while now: it’s been four years since Tame Impala’s last album. Add to that last year’s Impala feature on a ZHU track, an upcoming headlining set at Coachella (an idea which confused Cosmo so much they accidentally wrote one of 2019’s funniest pieces of music journalism), an SNL appearance lined up for next week, and last week’s snippet of a new song on Instagram, and it’s left fans impatiently waiting for something to drop.

Earlier today, Parker gave us the heads up with an Instagram post, saying he’d release new music in 60 mins. Looks like you all flooded the comments while you waited, and now ‘Patience’ is here.

Between this and Flume’s mixtape, it’s been a big week for surprise releases. Listen to ‘Patience’ below.
