[Update January 28]: Stan has signed a deal with Showtime’s parent company CBS confirming they’ll have exclusive Australian rights to the Twin Peaks reboot. As reported by Fairfax this morning, this deal will also include streaming rights to shows such as Madam Secretary, Elementary and “all of the Star Trek television series”.

Twin Peaks is still yet to get a release date, but it’s nice to know we’ll have somewhere to actually watch it when it drops some time in 2017.

It’s been a pretty wild ride ever since Twin Peaks fans discovered the show was getting a reboot late last year. David Lynch was maybe not doing it, but then he was doing it, and all of it was foretold almost 25 years ago by the ghost of Laura Palmer.

CALLED IT.

And now, to prove that it is in fact actually happening again, Showtime has shared the first teaser for the show, which is currently in production and will air sometime in 2017. It features sweeping aerial views of the “Twin Peaks” Pacific North-West location, while Michael Horse, aka Deputy Hawk, talks whimsically about it.

Unfortunately, there’s no sign of Lynch, or literally anyone or anything else that might give us the slightest bit more information about what’s coming — but then, where would Twin Peaks be without its mystique?
