Community lives! After years of hiatuses, near-cancellations, actual cancellations, fights between actors and writersactors leaving, creators getting fired , creators being re-hired, rumoured revivals and more navel-gazing will-they-won’t-they bullshit than a late-season episode of Scrubs, the award-winning show lives to fight another day.

Shhhh. It’s okay. Let it out.

After being cancelled by NBC back in May, rights for the sixth season were due to expire at midnight on June 30 American time, but they’ve been picked up in the nick of time to save the show from ultimate, permanent, yes-it’s-actually-definite destruction — by YahooTV, of all people.

In a statement, Community star Joel McHale said “reports of our cancellation have been greatly exaggerated. Thank you Sony. Thank you Yahoo. Thank you Dan Harmon.  And thank you to the greatest fucking fans in the history of the human race. It’s the internet. We can swear now.”

Community

It’s not yet clear whether this is a brilliant move to tap into a sizeable cult fanclub, or a pathetically misguided attempt to flog a dead horse and convince everyone that Yahoo still exists. Either way, Greendale Community College isn’t done with you and your emotions yet.
