Former Australian Idol contestant and meme hero Shannon Noll has been arrested and charged with assault following an altercation with security at an Adelaide strip club.

Noll allegedly assaulted a bouncer at the Crazy Horse Revue in Adelaide at around 2:30am on Sunday morning.

Channel Nine has obtained footage of the incident:

According to a witness, Noll was booted out of the club and became angry after being refused re-entry. “He got really aggressive and kept saying ‘I’m Shannon Noll let me back in to the Crazy Horse’”, the witness said.

Noll hasn’t commented on the incident, but according to a scheduled post on Twitter, he is booked to perform a gig in Chicago today.

He’s been granted bail and will appear in court in February.
