What about meme.

Alright. First off, it’s extraordinarily important that you put this smash-hit club banger on. It’s more than two years old, according to YouTube, and this is the first time Junkee have featured it in an article. For that, we deeply and unreservedly apologise.

We need to find the person who made this and make them Australian of the Year. Bare minimum.

Now: to business. Back in August, the event page for a Shannon Noll concert in Goulburn became the eye of a vast, swirling tornado of memes. Thousands of people turned out to pay homage to the greatest singer/songwriter of our time, and despite the best efforts of the page admins to shut it down, the event became a blazing, dank-as-heck beacon to the best Australian Idol winner we never had. It was a bloody good scene.

Cut to four months later, and Nollsy’s due to play a set in March at Sydney’s iconic Bridge Hotel. Descending like a plague of locusts, the meme-loving hordes have returned to flood the internet with loving tributes to the mastermind behind that greatest of Australian albums, That’s What I’m Talking About.

With over 3,200 patriots indicating their solemn intention to rock out to Nollsy come the big day, excitement is reaching a fever pitch from Newcastle to Wollongong. Authorities expect miles-long traffic jams, severe public transport delays, massive overcrowding in hotels and general mayhem in the lead-up to the Bridge gig, with the entire greater Sydney basin on high alert for the duration.
