Shania Twain Has Released Her First New Single In Forever And Yep, She’s Still The One
That does impress us much!
Back in April, Shania Twain caused a mild internet meltdown by announcing that her new album — her first in 14 long years — will land this September.
Now, we have lots more to be excited about: Twain has revealed that the album, titled Now, is due out September 29. Better yet, she’s dropped the record’s shiny lead single, ‘Life’s About To Get Good.’
In typical country Twain fashion, the track is a pretty massive kiss off to those folks that made her life a tabloid drama for the past decade. (Spark notes version: Shania’s husband left her for her best friend.)
“I’m not in the mood to write a ‘feeling-sorry-for-myself’ song,” she’s said of the song. “You can’t have the good without the bad. And that’s what the song ended up being about.”
Twain has also tipped that Now will be her most diverse album ever: “There’s a lot of variety there, but what I’ve learned about myself is, as a songwriter of all the songs, the emotion and the voice ties it all together as one artist.”
Dig out those old rhinestone boots and listen to ‘Life’s About To Get Good’ below.
