It’d be pretty hard to top a week in which HAIM, Phoenix and Ariana Grande all released new music, but Sydney’s Sampa The Great has done just that.

She’s just dropped the single ‘Everybody’s Hero’ featuring legendary UK singer Estelle, and produced by in demand hip-hop whisperer Rahki (he worked on Kendrick Lamar’s 2015 record To Pimp A Butterfly, and Eminem’s Recovery). It’s the first cut off her upcoming EP HERoes Act 2, due out May 12, which will also feature Estelle and Rahki. Both the track and album are out via Red Bull Sound Select.

The Zambian-born, Botswana-raised rapper and singer had her best year yet in 2016. Apart from supporting Kendrick Lamar on his sold-out run across the country, she released her debut LP The Great Mixtape, hit up festivals like Golden Plains and Sugar Mountain, and had her single ‘Blue Boss’ rack up over 1 million streams on Spotify.

Apart from the release of HERoes Act 2 this year, Sampa has a national tour locked in with fellow hip-hop act REMI. They’re playing a stack of dates around the country in June and July, tickets are available to grab now.
