HAIM and Phoenix are both releasing new albums this year, and today both bands have returned with new singles. Happy Friday!

Four years after the release of their acclaimed debut album Days Are Gone, LA’s HAIM have unveiled their new song ‘Right Now’. It’s the first taste of their forthcoming record Something To Tell You, which is due out July 7 — just in time for their appearance at this year’s Splendour In The Grass.

‘Right Now’ is currently only available as a live recording, and its accompanying vid was directed by none other than Paul Thomas Anderson (There Will Be Blood, Boogie Nights) who just dropped in on them at the studio and started filming. Something To Tell You’s first official single will be out May 3.

Phoenix meanwhile, have just released ‘J-Boy’ – the first single from their sixth studio album, landing on June 9. Called Ti Amo, it’s their first LP since Bankrupt! came out way back in 2013.

In the band’s own words, it’s going to be a big one: “It’s an album about simple pure emotions: love, desire, lust and innocence, it’s also a record about our European, Latin roots, a fantasized version of Italy: a lost paradise made of eternal Roman summers (hyper-light, hyper-clarity, pistachio gelato), juke-boxes on the beach, Monica Vitti and Marcello Mastroiani, fearless desire and Antique marble statues.”

So there you have go. Listen to ‘J-Boy’ below.
