Martin Shkreli Has Been Convicted Of Fraud And People Cannot Contain Their Joy
Does this mean we can finally get that Wu-Tang album back?
It was a wild ride. A wild, terrible, awful ride. And now, it looks like it’s almost over. Martin Shkreli, the man who became known as “the most hated man on the internet” after he jacked-up the price of HIV medication, has been convicted of fraud.
Shkreli was found guilty on three of eight charges, including two counts of securities fraud and one count of conspiring to commit securities fraud, after a Brooklyn jury found that the pharma bro misled investors in two of his hedge funds, MSMB Capital and MSMB Healthcare.
The 34-year-old, who seemed to revel in his notoriety, and who was banned from Twitter earlier this year for harassing a female journalist, is facing up to 20 years in prison — although chances are he will serve only a fraction of that time.
Still, that didn’t stop social media users from mocking the absolute shit out of him.

Judge orders Martin Shkreli’s owner to shatter cursed amulet, turning Shkreli back into a puppet

Now under normal circumstances I don’t really like the idea of kicking someone while they’re down. On the other hand, screw this guy and everything he stands for.
I hope they surprise Shkreli and increase his sentence by 5000% overnight

You, dumb: Asset forfeiture is immoral
Me, an intellectual: since Martin Shkreli is going to jail we can get that Wu Tang album he has

It’s good to see the country come together in agreement that we all want Martin Shkreli to go to jail

A lot of people are also very much enjoying these court sketches, which seems entirely fair enough.
Sure, they had search high and low to find a jury who don’t hate Martin Shkreli. The sketch artist? Not held to the same standards pic.twitter.com/C94Q7MWtvX

Of course odds are whatever prison time Shkreli actually receives will be served in one of those fancy rich people jails like the one at the end of The Wolf of Wall Street. But hey, you’ve gotta take the wins where you can get them.
