HBO Drops A Teaser For Their Sexy New Murder Mystery Feat. Reese Witherspoon And Nicole Kidman

Sex, lies, murder and Elvis impersonators: you’ll find all that and more in the first teaser trailer for HBO’s new seven part series Big Little Lies. Based on the best selling novel by Liane Moriarty and directed by Dallas Buyers Club helmer Jean Marc-Vallee, the show has been described by Variety as “a darkly comic drama centering on three mothers of first graders whose apparently perfect lives unravel to the point of murder.”

It’s hard to get much of an impression from this teaser, which is light on plot but heavy on sexy times on kitchen counters, and makes A+ use of ‘Papa Was a Rollin’ Stone’. If nothing else, the show’s cast is absolutely stacked – in addition to Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and Laura Dern, you’ve also got Zoe Kravitz, Alexander Skarsgard, Shailene Woodley and Adam Scott. Not that a bunch of famous people was enough to make the second season of True Detective remotely watchable, but still.
