Bill Murray continues to operate as a living, breathing meme, crashing a press conference at the White House to talk about baseball because he’s Bill Murray and, honestly, who’s going to stop him?

The actor was at the White House on Friday to meet with President Obama. Why? Nobody is totally sure about that, although it could have something to do with him winning the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. Again though, he’s Bill Murray, so why are you questioning how or why he does something. He just…is.

Addressed by the assembled crowd as “Mr. President”, Murray fielded a question about the upcoming game between his beloved Chicago Cubs and the Los Angeles Dodgers. “I feel very confident,” he said of Chicago’s chances. “At home with our crowd, the weather…you get a little bit of autumn in Chicago, you don’t get that in Los Angeles. Trees just die in Los Angeles. In Illinois they flourish.”

As it happens, Murray was right on the money. The Cubs beat the Dodgers earlier today, advancing to their first World Series since 1945. Murray was at the game at Wrigley Field in Chicago, and was caught on camera celebrating with fans, tears of joy streaming down his face.
