After an absolutely TORTUROUS one week break, the most underrated show on television, Younger, is back and it’s tackling Big Dick Energy. Little late to the meme, but I’ll allow it.

May I begin by worshipping Miriam Shor (Diana Trout) who directed this episode! We kick off this week’s ‘An Inside Glob’ with the upsetting discovery that Maggie is very uncharacteristically… coupled up. I hate it, I don’t like it, I absolutely do not care for it. And much worse, she is also doing yoga.

“Is that the vagina counsellor?” “Yes, we just completed a session.” Nice.

Nevertheless, we kick off with everyone cute and loved up, and Maggie suggests a double date with her lady Beth and Liza and Charles. But! Alas! Liza is concerned Charles is lying and sneaking about and starting a new publishing company with Zane. Which he is. More on that later.

Kelsey is still not having a good time at work. Millennial is hunting for a new book to promote, and Liza suggests ‘The Seasoned Slut’, a book about an older woman chef that Diana describes as ‘erotica for baby boomers’. Sounds incredible, and I would love to read absolutely none of it.

Little do they realise that ‘Boomer Porn’ already covers every way they’re fucking us all over.

Meanwhile Kelsey has figured out Zane’s new company, Mercury, has an office in the financial district, and goes to confront him. She arrives to find him sitting in a communal workspace, which she is deeply disgusted by. It’s 2019, sweetie, we are all sharing workspaces and studio apartments.

‘Babe, you seem to have something on your back’

Kelsey is upset with Zane, and heads off to lunch with Lauren. She laments that her quick, easy way to de-stress was Zane, but that’s off the table. So long-suffering Kelsey is back on dating apps, and describes herself as a publisher at Millennial Print. She isn’t getting any matches. “Men don’t want to deal with your big dick energy,” explains Lauren, and swiftly changes her info to ‘creative director,’ whatever that means. Ding ding, instant matches.

The only acceptable face while Tinder swiping.

Back to Josh’s adorable parenting journey with baby Gemma, and some cringe-worthy slapstick as Clare has a clogged duct and squirts breast milk all over Josh’s face. A lot of body horror this episode, and more to come.

‘Oh no, it missed my mouth!’

Meanwhile, Kelsey is off to the salon to presumably get her twice-daily blow dry. The hairdresser informs her she has a bald patch, and is losing her hair. What a NIGHTMARE. She now has, as she puts it, Bald Dude Energy.

When we watch the music video for Hilary Duff’s ‘Sparks’ that isn’t the ‘fan-demanded version’.

Lauren has been up all night with baby Gemma, and Kelsey arrives in an absolutely stupid hat to cover up her hair problem. She is rightfully dunked on for this hat for the rest of the episode. At Millennial, she has to meet with Bronwyn to pitch MetroCycle kiosk advertising for The Seasoned Slut that suggests the reader “get on to get off.” Bronwyn hates it, and wants a more ‘experienced’ publisher to work on her book. Boomers, am I right?

Garlic? I Don’t Even Know Her

Kelsey goes to the pharmacy for her balding problem, and runs into Maggie who is dealing with the natural side effect of hot yoga: a raging yeast infection. She invites Kelsey over for double date night at the apartment, where Beth just straight up sticks a clove of garlic up Maggie like it’s Italian 50 Shades of Grey parody night. For the record, I’m pretty sure yoghurt is the correct and less pungent remedy.

It might not cure her sickness, but on the plus side, Maggie will no longer have vampires trying to feast from her vagina.

Laughs ensue as everyone repeatedly swears they can smell garlic bread. Kelsey rages about Zane’s new publishing house and Charles continues to change the subject, because he is a filthy snake. Charles tells Kelsey this issue with Zane is “just business” and nothing personal, and Maggie announces “It’s me, Beth stuck a whole clove up my pussy”.

Mam, this is an Arby’s.

Liza walks Charles out and confronts him about Mercury (finally). She is hurt, but Charles wants the information to stay between them.

The next day Kelsey finds out Bronwyn is meeting with Mercury so naturally she is marching straight there to intervene, while Liza is on the way to tell Kelsey about Charles. Big surprise — Charles shows up and Kelsey is VERY VERY MAD. She loudly scolds him in the restaurant and announces that it’s Charles and Zane’s fault she is going bald. Everyone is, of course, filming this.

‘What’s this? Lights camera and me, without a stitch of make-up!’

Liza tells Bronwyn that Charles called her book ‘matron lit.’ Very nice, but also DUMP HIM, sweetie.

The final drama: news comes that authors are jumping ship from Millennial for Mercury, and Charles has resigned from the board of directors, reinforcing him as Millennial’s key competition.

Always and forever.

WHAT. IS. THIS. NECKLACE?! I have to respect this blue enigma on Diana, if only for the boldness in how absolutely hideous it is. I like when an outfit makes me feel confused and scared.

Team Whom?

Sweet boy Josh with a baby in his arms is firmly in the lead this week, and if he doesn’t make a foolish cuckold of Charles soon I will be very disappointed. See you next week!
