“You coulda been alright, boys! But now, you’ll be nuthin’, and nobody will know WHO YOU ARE!”, are the foreboding (and obviously very wrong) words that open these dual sneak peeks of Channel Seven’s upcoming INXS mini series, INXS: Never Tear Us Apart.

Set to the familiar guitar strains of ‘New Sensation’ (lols, 1.45 mark) and ‘Never Tear Us Apart’, the clips offer further glimpses of the good stuff we wanna see: a teary-eyed Kylie Minogue, a pig-tailed Paula Yates, something about haircuts, a lot of stuff about hotel rooms, some kitchen sex (“What’s she reading?”, we all ask ourselves), a knife sticking in some wooden floorboards, and an ol’ timey phone getting dramatically tossed out of a window.

Starring Luke Arnold as Hutchence, former X Factor champ Samantha Jade as Kylie, Packed To The Rafters‘ Hugh Sheridan as bass guy Garry Gary Beers (what a name), and a whole bunch of other fresh local faces, the film is one of Seven’s biggest locally-produced priorities for the year, such a priority that its premiere date is still listed as “after the tennis”.

Geez, c’mon Channel Seven — what, your calendar’s broken ’cause the tennis is on? Tennis and calendars can easily co-exist, look:
