With the official prices finally announced and the whole catalogue leaking online, yesterday was all about hype for Netflix AU. Now, as of this morning, it’s officially been released and the tension has died off completely. Presumably we’re all six-hours deep into a long-awaited binge session to catch up on the shows we’ve been missing all these years.

Now, to suit this Still In Your PJs, Eating Mounds Of Peanut Butter By The Fistful vibe you have going on, Optus have released a notably low-energy welcome message starring Ricky Gervais.

The telco have partnered with the streaming service for their launch, and are offering customers six months of free access — but the whole time Gervais is talking you get the distinct feeling he really doesn’t know or care a whole lot about what he’s selling.

This suspicion is then quickly confirmed.

Honestly, if all ads were like that last one, I’d probably wouldn’t have ditched TV for Netflix in the first place.
