It’s all systems go on set for the heavily anticipated Veronica Mars reboot, with show creator Rob Thomas sharing a snap of the reunited cast.

A couple of months ago, we first heard official confirmation of a new season of the 2000’s TV gem. It’s set to chronologically follow on from the Veronica Mars movie, which dropped back in 2014 after an impressive crowdfunding campaign drew in $5.7 million.

No need for a Kickstarter this time around though, as streaming site Hulu has pulled out the wallet for eight brand new episodes of the sexy mystery adventures of Kristen Bell and co., all set in the oddly murderous town of Neptune.

Speaking of the aforementioned co., the pic from the first table read of episode one shows a handful of the cast joining Bell. Jason Dohring (Logan Echolls), Percy Daggs III (Wallace Fennel), Daran Norris (Cliff McCormack), Enrico Colantoni (Keith Mars), and David Starzyk (Richard Casablancas), along with newbie cast member Patton Oswalt were all in attendance.

Look at all these old and new mates together! MY HEART!

In other VM news just at hand, a surprise new bit of casting was also revealed today. Perfect angry dad JK Simmons is officially joining the reboot. He’s set to play a dude called Clyde Prickett, an ex-con who now works for Dick Casablancas in some kind of nefarious manner.

Related: If at some point they don’t get Simmons to scream a line about wanting pictures of someone (Spider-Man or otherwise), I’ll be incredibly upset.

That’s pretty much all we know so far about season four of Veronica Mars, besides a vague synopsis that says a new case for Mars Investigations will see a “fallout between the affluent and working-class residents.”

Ooooohhh spicy. Extremely here for it, whenever it decides to hit Hulu. We’ll keep you updated with any new goss, especially on how us Aussies can get our eyes around it.
