It’s almost been two whole years since we last saw the superpowered, super-traumatised Hargreeves siblings in The Umbrella Academy.

Season 1 introduced us to the clan Hargreeves, seven super-powered siblings adopted by a cold-hearted billionaire who branded them as the Umbrella Academy. When their dad finally kicks the bucket, the seven were reunited and the traumas of their childhood begin to bubble back to the surface.

One of them is also a rogue time traveller trying to get his siblings to put their differences aside to prevent a corrupt time travelling Kabal known as the commission from causing the end of the world. Typical family drama, really

After being trapped in the 1960s, The Umbrella Academy Season 2 ended on a timey-whimey cliffhanger that saw the Hargreeves finally return to their own time. But they return home to find seven completely different Hargreeves siblings in their place known as The Sparrow Academy. One of the Sparrows is literally a telekinetic cube.

It’s been a whole pandemic since that fateful cliffhanger and now Netflix has dropped a taste for what’s in store. In a date announcement teaser, we see Vanya (Elliot Page), Number 5 (Aiden Gallagher), Klaus (Robert Sheehan), Alison (Emmy Raver-Lampman), Luther (Tom Hopper), and Diego (David Castañeda) squaring up with the Sparrows. The synopsis promises plenty of confrontation between the two families.

Season 3 of The Umbrella Academy will stream from June 22nd, 2022 on Netflix. Catch the preview below.
