Users Of Right-Wing Dating App Say They’re Getting Calls From The FBI
"I came here to find love, not a damn warrant."
New ring-wing dating app ‘The Right Stuff’ is reportedly prompting users to opine on the infamous January 6 Capitol attack, and some users say they’re being hit up by the FBI as a result.
Yep, a report from Gizmodo confirms that users of the new app, which was founded by former Trump staffers, asks users to respond to an open-ended prompt about the event, with the words “January 6 was” preceding a blank space.
Less than a week into its release, the app — funded by billionaire Peter Thiel — has been slammed by negative App Store reviewers, some of who complain that they’ve been contacted by the FBI.
“Okay app asks about January 6th, harmless, right? I said I was there because I was, I’m a patriot that’s why I’m on this dating app,” one frustrated user wrote. “I use this app for hardly an evening and is it a coincidence I get a call from an FBI agent the SAME DAY??? Seriously, what stunt are they trying to pull? Whoever developed this has to be deepstate setting us up… I came here to find love, not a damn warrant.”
Another user declared the app “unsafe” after cops ended up at his door. “I answered the question about January 6th honestly and the next day I have two police officers at my door telling me that they got a call alleging that I was involved in domestic terrorism??? This app was clearly created by Democrats as a way to subvert our constitutional rights as conservative Americans. Do not use this app unless you want to be harassed by left-wing fascists.”
The app’s team told Newsweek that claims around FBI raids were false, describing the reviews as “just people trolling.”
