Seth Myers’ Fake Vice Presidential Debate Was A Hell Of A Lot Less Boring Than The Real Thing
If only the Late Night host had been moderating the actual debate.
Earlier in the week, a pair of cream cheese titans in inoffensive suits went head to head in the US vice presidential debate. On the Democratic side, smiling felt puppet Tim Kaine, who you just know spent the entire broadcast waiting for an excuse to bust out his harmonica. On the Republican side, an increasingly weary looking Mike Pence, who by this point in the campaign must surely be wishing he was the assistant manager of a Starbucks rather than Donald Trump’s running mate.
The Vice Presidential Debate Happened; People Still Don’t Really Know Who These Men Are
It was a contest for the ages – an epic clash marked by awkward slogans, dodged questions and two men repeatedly talking over the female moderator.
In other words, it was really, really dull.

Fortunately, Pence and Kaine were given a chance to redeem themselves during an impromptu second debate held during an episode of Late Night with Seth Myers. Unfortunately, neither man seemed to do much better in the rematch. Come to think of it, a lot of the time it just felt like they were repeating the same talking points from earlier in the week. That’s politics for you, I guess.
For real though, would anyone be remotely surprised to find out that Tim Kaine actually drives a minivan?
