The building which houses Melbourne’s iconic nightspot Revolver Upstairs has been listed for sale.

The building — which sits on Chapel Street in Prahran — was listed on Commercial Real Estate’s website at the end of last month.

The listing notes that the site offers “multiple development or conversion options, ranging from boutique hotel, high end residential, hospitality and F&B, or commercial office offering.”

Reportedly, the current owners are seeking offers of more than $20 million for the building. Real estate agency Cushman & Wakefield told the Herald Sun that a “long lease” agreement was in place for the nightclub, but they declined to offer more detail.

“But there is a long lease in place….the tenants plan to remain and look forward to reopening once restrictions are lifted,” agency director Marcus Neill told Herald Sun.

Which means, luckily, that Revs won’t be going anywhere for the time being. At present, like venues around the country, Revs is closed due to COVID-19 lockdowns.

Revolver Upstairs is a Melbourne institution, renowned for its general looseness, and has been home to a range of some of the biggest DJs and musicians in the world. It’s also home to probably the best lost and found department on the planet.
