Music nerds, assemble: A full blown Recovery documentary is coming to ABC next month as part of Ausmusic Month.

Recovery host Dylan Lewis helms the project, titled Recovery: The Music and The Mayhem, which will feature interviews with the likes of Bernard Fanning, Tim Rogers, Killing Heidi, members of Silverchair, Spiderbait, Regurgitator, Something for Kate, Magic Dirt, Jebediah, The Living End, The Superjesus, and more.

His co-host Jane Gazzo will be along for the ride as well, as will director Leigh Whannell and ‘The Enforcer’ — who you might remember as being the mysterious alter ego of comedian Angus Sampson.

“Working on Recovery back in the day was rad,” said Lewis. “It was crazy, loose and so fun. Putting together this rockumentary has been nostalgic bliss for me and I can’t wait for old fans and new ones to experience it.”

Gazzo and Lewis recently revived their Recovery co-hosting gig as part of their new YouTube channel, ‘Recovered’, which sees them lovingly chat about everything from the Beastie Boys’ recent biography, to kombucha, to reviewing The Lion King. Hopes for a full on Recovery revival have been repeatedly quashed in recent years, with the ABC instead turning their attention to new live music shows such as The Set

Recovery: The Music and The Mayhem airs on Wednesday 27 November at 9.00pm. Additionally, a stack of vintage Recovery content — including extended interviews and performances — will hit ABC iView just after the broadcast.
