Olivia Wilde would like you to know that Don’t Worry Darling asks some very big and important questions, and is disappointed that the press has been more consumed by meta-narratives around the film’s leading cast, including Florence Pugh and Harry Styles.

Yes, in yet another magazine interview for Elle, Wilde lamented the media’s preoccupation with the supposed personal beefs between Don’t Worry Darling‘s lead actors, including an alleged feud between Olivia Wilde and Florence Pugh, Shia LeBeouf’s mysterious exit from the movie, and of course, Wilde’s rumoured romantic relationship with Harry Styles.

In the interview, the actor and director also says she’s been frustrated by the way Don’t Worry Darling has been “minimised into bite-size TikTok points” by the teens.

“It is shocking to see so many untruths about yourself traded as fact,” she added. “Florence [Pugh] had a really wise comment that we didn’t sign up for a reality show. And I love that she put it that way, because it’s as though the general public feels that if you are making something that you’re selling to the public, you somehow have accepted that your life will be torn to shreds by a pack of wolves. No, that’s actually not part of the job description.”

She also alluded to media commentary around a feud between her and lead actor in the movie Florence Pugh, reciting the old, “it’s brought my attention to the media and how it pits women against one another”. Oop, that sounds like a wake-up call for Miss Media!

Notably, Wilde did not comment on the many allegations that Harry Styles spat on his co-star Chris Pyne. Did he or didn’t he, Olivia!? Your silence on this point is deafening.
