Way back in 1995, Nick Cave and Kylie Minogue released the (un)official Australian anthem, ‘Where The Wild Roses Grow’.

Close your eyes and you can probably picture it now: the quivering ballad, the sizzling chemistry, the menacing music video that saw Kylie and Nick splash around in a shallow pond. It was truly a moment in Australian culture.

It was also a big moment for Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds: ‘Where The Wild Roses Grow’ remains their most successful single to date — it’s actually the only Bad Seeds song to ever chart in the ARIA top 20.

Over the last two decades the pair have performed the track live only a handful of times — the last being at a gig in London in 2013, which was the first time they had taken the stage together in 15 years.

Which is why fans were more than a little surprised when Cave brought out Minogue during his headlining set at London’s All Points East Festival over the weekend. Minogue was apparently there celebrating her birthday when she decided to join Cave on stage for the duet.

Thankfully, some ecstatic fans were there to capture the moment. Watch footage of it below.
