Tony Abbott had “stop the boats”. Malcolm Turnbull had “jobs and growth”. But Scott Morrison appears to have pipped his predecessors in the race to produce the most cringeworthy catchphrase of all time. In a lot of ways, “how good is [blank]” is the perfect meaningless pleasantry for a man who wants nothing more than to be seen as a regular bloke, but who doesn’t actually have any answers. So naturally, comedian Mark Humphries has jumped on the slogan as part of his new ScoMo-inspired fake ad campaign for Tourism Australia.

The sketch, which aired on last night’s episode of 7.30, proves just how versatile the Prime Minister’s catchphrase really is. “How good is Australia?” asks Humphries “How good is Sunday afternoon at the footy? How good is having a cold beer with your mates? How good are preferences from One Nation?”

“How good is having a billionaire wage a multi-million dollar campaign against your political opponent?” the sketch continues, as shots of Clive Palmer flash across the screen. “And how good is having two of them?” it adds, cutting to an image of Rupert Murdoch.

The environment cops a mention too. “How good is the pristine white sand of the Whitsundays,” Humphries asks, “and the pristine white coral of the Great Barrier Reef?”
