If getting booed by the crowd at his recent festival set wasn’t enough, Machine Gun Kelly now has to deal with the wrath of Trivium’s Matt Heafy.

Heafy has waded into the beef between the rapper/pop-punk artist and Corey Taylor’s Slipknot, gifting him the name “Squirt Gun Smelly” and roasting him for “being 31-years-old wearing a fucking 16-year-old pop-punk cosplay identity on a fucking stage.”

As nicknames go, it’s not the most imaginative (points for the rhyming scheme at least) but it does the job.

“I never thought about him till he took a shot at Slipknot — who are a band who’s paved the way for bands like mine,” Heafy added in a follow-up tweet. “Thousands of bands like mine. Squirt Gun is a clout chaser. And even though it’s all a PR stunt, a shot at Slipknot needs an addressing.”

Heafy then very sarcastically apologised:

In case you missed it, MGK kicked off the feud a little over a week ago, when he insulted Slipknot onstage at Riot Fest.

“You all want to know what I’m happy that I’m not doing?” MGK asked the crowd. “Being 50 years old wearing a fucking weird mask on the fucking stage. Fucking shit.”

He was apparently responding to comments Taylor had made earlier in the year about him (Taylor essentially said that Kelly had “failed at one genre” and decided to go rock). The beef then moved to Twitter, with MGK claiming that Taylor wrote a “fucking terrible” verse for his album, which was scrapped. Taylor quickly hit back, calling MGK a child.

It went from cringe-worthy to worse for MGK. At Louder Than Life festival a few days ago, he was booed by the crowd the whole way through his set, and ended up getting into a physical altercation with a fan when he came down into the photo pit.
