Kristen Stewart is one of the most versatile actors currently working, a whirlpool of talents who fully submerges herself in any role that she is called on to play.

And sure, not every one of her films are great, per se, but Stewart is always great in them. She gives every performance her all, whether it be the family friendly Zathura: A Space Adventure or the shockingly effective undersea horror film Underwater.

There’s just something so on edge about the performer; she always seems like she’s moments away from levitating, or tearing out a handful of her hair. There’s an energy to her that calls to mind the same antic passion as a young Robert DeNiro — a kind of blazing going on beyond her eyes. No wonder that she is everyone’s favourite part of the reasonably disastrous Charlie’s Angel reboot, or that she keeps getting fancast as the Joker; we all want more Kristen Stewart, and we’ll take her in whatever form she comes.

As for Stewart herself, she understands that she hasn’t always starred in stellar pictures. In a new, joyously unbridled interview with the Sunday Times, the actor has revealed that she only considers a handful of those movies in her oeuvre to be out-and-out classics.

“I’ve probably made five really good films out of 45 or 50 films?” she said. “Ones that I go, ‘Wow, that person made a top-to-bottom beautiful piece of work!’”

Moreover, Stewart admits that she sometimes get the sense that a project is going to go bad even as she is in the midst of filming it.

“The worst is when you’re in the middle of something and know that not only is it probably going to be a bad movie but we’re all bracing until the end,” she said.

“It’s like starting to date someone and going, ‘Woah! I don’t know what we’re doing!’ But when you’re in the middle of a movie you can’t just break up.”

Of course, the internet has been ablaze ever since Stewart dropped the comments, with internet sleuths trying to deduce what those five best films might be. The most common answer? The Twilight franchise.

Stewart herself clarified that two of the select five “really good” films are her collaborations with Olivier Assayas, The Clouds of Sils Marina, and Personal Shopper. And she’s right to say it — if you haven’t seen Personal Shopper in particular then jump on it, ASAP.
