Julian Assange In A Rap Video With A Mullet Wig On His Head Is A Thing That Just Happened

He's mouthing along to John Farnham's 'The Voice', rewritten as an ode to Wikileaks. We are also confused.

Juice Rap News is a Melbourne-based YouTube channel who describes themselves thus: “The news show for the Internet nation, delivering a bulletin to restore your faith in the fourth estate, make you nod your head to the beat even as you shake it in disbelief.”

What this means in real terms is they rap the news at you every few months. It’s okay!

Usually, they dress up as the politicians and media entities they’re mocking/reporting on, and there’s certainly a lot of that in the latest episode. But after the first three and a half Game Of Thrones-themed minutes, there’s a special treat for their season finale: they got themselves inside the Ecuadorian Embassy in London and convinced Julian Assange that appearing in their clip would be a good idea.

And then they convinced him to wear a mullet and a rolled-up Australian tee. Before mouthing along to an appropriated version of John Farnham’s ‘The Voice’. In a series of denim and flannel shirts.

Not only did he have to learn all those words, but he had to learn the timing and veracity with which to fake-sing them. Which is a great thing to imagine Assange doing while he is doing all of those other things he does. He must be either extremely bored, desperate for the youth vote, or feeling left out of all the Canberra GIF madness brought to us last week.

So here you go, Julian. Here. Have a GIF:
