These Photos From An All-Clown Screening Of ‘It’ Are Pure Nightmare Fuel
Please no.
It arrived in cinemas this week, and people are going nuts for it.
The long-awaited film adaptation of Stephen King’s seminal horror novel has scored rave reviews from critics, and currently sits at 88 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. It’s also proved a huge hit with audiences, raking in more than $95 million – and counting.
More to the point, it’s bloody terrifying. If you have a fear of clowns, this movie will mess you up. If you don’t, you will by the time the end credits start to roll.
As if the movie itself wasn’t upsetting enough, the Alamo Drafthouse cinema in Austin, Texas has knocked things up another notch by hosting a special screening exclusively for clowns.
You may remember the Drafthouse as the very same cinema that upset tiny baby men on the internet with their women-only screening of Wonder Woman.
All things being equal, this weekend’s event doesn’t feel quite as empowering, so much as it does fucking horrifying.
Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Of course, all these film nerds dressed us clowns does lead to one especially troubling question…
“Do you think the clowns tonight are going to go home and have clown sex?” #shitmybfsays #IT @drafthouse @thaneufeld

And truly, that mental image might be the most frightening thing of all.
