In a few months time, Scottish indie crew Franz Ferdinand and US hitmakers MGMT will land in the country for Splendour in the Grass.

If you can’t make it up to Byron for their sets, don’t worry: the two acts have now announced two huge co-headlining shows in Sydney and Melbourne. They’ll hit Melbourne’s Festival Hall on Tuesday 24 July, and Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on Wednesday 25 July.

The tour will mark the first time in five years that either of the bands have toured Australia, and they’ll both be coming armed with new records. Franz Ferdinand’s latest album, Always Ascending, dropped last year — as did MGMT’s Little Dark Age.

Of course, they’ll also be coming with a stack of favourites like ‘Electric Feel’, ‘Kids’, and ‘Take Me Out’.

Tickets for the Sydney and Melbourne shows go on sale Friday, April 27. Frontier members will have an exclusive pre-sale kicking off on Tuesday 24 April — if you’re not a member, you can join here.

Squiz all the details below, and reacquaint yourself with a couple of the band’s greatest hits while you’re at it.
