Hold onto your butts, everyone: the Splendour 2018 line-up has finally landed, and it’s big.

Lorde, Vampire Weekend, and Kendrick Lamar have been locked in as the major headliners for the three-day festival, while acts such as Khalid, Miguel, and Chvrches, and Girl Talk will also be making the trip to Byron.

A stack of other internationals are on the bill as well, including Franz Ferdinand, MGMT, and Ben Howard, while locals like Gang of Youths, Pnau, and Amy Shark will also deliver sets.

Surprisingly, Arctic Monkeys are noticeably absent on the line-up, despite being widely tipped to appear. Check out the full line-up below.

The Splendour announcement comes at a time when the Australian music industry is grappling with issues of diversity and representation on festival line-ups. Earlier this year Falls Festival was widely criticised for only featuring nine women on their 2017/2018 line-up, and were publicly called out by one of those acts — Melbourne’s Camp Cope — while they were on stage in Byron.

The organisers behind Falls Festival and Splendour — Secret Sounds — released a statement last month addressing gender representation on their line-ups, more specifically taking issue with triple j’s By The Numbers survey, which found that Falls and Splendour had the lowest percentage of female and non-binary acts among the major Australian festivals.

Secret Sounds thoroughly criticised triple j’s methodology within the report, and argued that it doesn’t take into account touring musicians, or singers that feature within another act’s set (such as AlunaGeorge jumping on stage with Peking Duk for one song.)

At a glance, the Splendour 2018 line-up is tracking much along the same lines as previous line-ups, with only three female or female-featuring acts in the first three tiers on the line-up.

Splendour in the Grass will take place at North Byron Parklands from Friday July 20 to Sunday July 22 . Tickets are on sale Thursday April 19 at 9am.
