Weird Al Yankovic’s biopic, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, is almost upon us, and the new trailer gives us our first look at Evan Rachel Wood as Madonna.

Starring Daniel Radcliffe as the titular Weird Al, Weird is one of the most anticipated films of the year. The movie is billed as a comedy biopic about the rise of iconic parody artist Weird Al Yankovic, written, produced by, and starring the man himself.

But the hype surrounding the film isn’t just about seeing Radcliffe as Yankovic. The film’s supporting cast of characters includes a sea of famous faces; including mononymic icons Madonna and Oprah.

In the latest trailer, audiences get a sensual and suitably strange look at Evan Rachel Wood’s turn as Madonna when she turns up to Yankovic’s fancy abode. Much like me, Wood’s Madonna is incredibly horny at the sight of Radcliffe’s totally shredded Weird Al, who (also like me) is also equally horny for Wood’s outrageously accurate Madonna.

Also in the new trailer, fans of Abbott Elementary will spot Quinta Brunson. Brunson, herself a three-time Emmy award winner is playing the icon herself, Oprah Winfrey. If there’s one thing we love to see, it’s icons playing icons, and Weird isn’t short on them.

But arguably, the trailer’s best reveal is that the film will spoof other popular music biopics; specifically, Bohemian Rhapsody. The trailer shows a scene echoing many a corny biopic with Radcliffe as Yankovic passionately informs his friends, “My whole life, all I’ve wanted is to make up new words to a song that already exists”.

He then proceeds to perform the opening lines of ‘My Bologna’ (a spoof of The Knack’s ‘My Sharona’) on the accordion. “I’ve got literal chills,” his friends reply in awe.

Catch Evan Rachel Wood as Madonna in Weird: The Al Yankovic Story when it streams on Roku worldwide from November 4.
