Euphoria Season 2 was the gift that kept on giving when it came to new memes and trends. With the season now wrapped up, it’s time for a trip down memory lane to revisit the ample content that came out in its two-month duration.

And Why Aren’t You In Uniform?

Oh, Euphoria High. The multifaceted meme came out of the internet questioning what life looked like in the elusive high school, which we came to see more of in Season 2 with Lexi’s play in the school auditorium taking up most of the two last episodes.

This early offering saw people walk on screen with their usual clothing, before back-pedalling, and returning in more Euphoria-esque attire — the Gen Z, colourful, daring style you’d see on Maddy, or Cassie pretending to be Maddy — while a Spongebob Squarepants scene plays in the background.

“Bitch, You Better Be Joking”

One of the best scenes in the season is Cassie struggling with her image to get Nate’s attention. She dresses up in different styles every day, culminating in a farm girl chic number that looks like it came straight out of the Drama Club’s prop room.

Rue asks in the bathroom if she’s a part of Lexi’s upcoming play, and in an attempt to deflect the true synopsis — that it’s actually an autobiographic drag of their friendship circle — Lexi deflects and says she’s putting on a production of Oklahoma instead.

“If you’re not auditioning for Oklahoma, then why are you dressed like that,” Kat asked Cassie.

“Like what?”

“Like a country music star,” replied Maddy.

“In a good way or a bad way?”

“Bitch, you better be joking,” Maddy executes perfectly. The exchange turned into an instant meme as people scrambled the words around to fit fun and new scenarios.

The Bathroom Door

Fan favourite Maddy consistently came through this season, not only in her character development, but in the memes. In episode one, Season 2, the fateful New Years Eve party sees Nate and Cassie have sex for the first time in the bathroom, only for Nate’s ex Maddie to need to pee.

She bangs on the bathroom door with such angular strategy and speed that it lives on as an iconic moment in the latest season.

I Want Her On Euphoria

You know what Euphoria needs? More messy characters for added chaos. TikTok hypothesised who would best add juicy entertainment and drama to the somewhat slow season if only given the chance.

“Rue? When Was This?”

On a drug bender, Rue throws Cassie under the bus by announcing she’s sleeping with Nate to deflect attention away from herself. Again, Maddy comes through with embodied acting so great she started a whole trend around ‘hand acting’. RIP Stanislavski, you would’ve loved Maddy Perez.

Cal Said Gay Rights

The weird and somewhat redeeming character arc of Nate’s manipulative father Cal shone through in the execution of two simple lines: “Cal, I’m not going to ask you again. Put your penis away.”

“I am who I am,” was the reply.

Having finally accepted his sexuality after decades of repression, he drunkenly comes out to his family in the hallway of his home, after pissing on the floor. The scene is so absurd it was recreated with various phallic paraphernalia online.

“Wait, Is This Fucking Play About Us?”

The long-awaited opening night of Lexi’s play saw her cohort take a smidge too long to realise who the muses were, and the characters based off. Maddy finally asks if the play is about them, in a line versatile enough to be used in any scenario about being perceived.

Can’t wait to do it all again for Season 3.
