This Viral TikTok Is A Chilling Reminder Of How Easy It Is To Have Your Drink Spiked
The fact that you can barely notice her do it, in broad daylight with a clear drink, is horrifying.
Sadly, drink spiking is a common problem.
In fact, roughly 44 percent of men and 56 per cent of women have unknowingly consumed spiked food or drink. And while we’re taught to never take drinks from strangers, to cover drinks with a coasters, and to always keep your drink with you, people somehow still find a way, especially in dark, packed clubs.
Well, Mel from @renaissancewomanhood on TikTok has made a viral video that shows just how easy it is for these people to slip something into your drink — even when it’s right in front of you.
Using popcorn kernels to demonstrate the different drink spiking techniques people use, the drops are so undetectable that you’d honestly struggle to notice them if they weren’t pointed out to you.

Despite only being uploaded two days ago, the drink spiking video has gone viral both on TikTok and Twitter.
Most people watching just couldn’t believe how undetectable the “pill” dropping was — especially in broad daylight with a clear liquid. Others struggled to even see any pills fall into the glass until the end of the video, showing just how easy it is for you to be taken advantage of by others.
the fact with the first watch I ain't even realize anything was going into the drink….. it's this easy. https://t.co/tHFhm0X37r

This is scary as hell becuase I literally didn’t even notice what she was doing until the last one

She did this in natural sunlight with water and many people in the comments didn’t catch on until the third drink. Now replace this with a colored drink in a dark, crowded, club after a few drinks…this is scary https://t.co/Y5MFsjsJBo

Mel made the drink spiking video in response to a question she received on an earlier TikTok made about the benefits of drink coasters. Explaining that she uses coasters in bars to cover her drinks to prevent people from tampering with her drinks, some questioned the need when your glass is in front of you or in your hand.
Others simply told Mel to “chill out” because drinking spiking “is not that common”, which is why she decided to show everyone just how easy it is to do.
Stay safe out there, y’all.
