Diplo Just Announced He Has “An Entire Ass Baby” (Aka A New Son) In The Most Diplo Way Ever
"I haven't met him yet since we are separated by a million miles and closed borders."
Diplo celebrated Mother’s Day this year by revealing via Instagram he has a new son, with a caption that might be the most Diplo thing we’ve ever seen.
Diplo’s third child, Pace, was born on 20th March, as announced by mother and model Jevon King on the day, though it wasn’t public knowledge the child was Diplo’s until today.
King, 30, hadn’t revealed her child’s father, and it wasn’t widely known the two had a romantic relationship until the DJ and producer revealed his new son in a carousel post for Mother’s Day. It featured three photos: one of his mother, one of ex-Kathryn Lockhart and their two sons, and one of model King, cradling his newborn son.
“The three strongest mothers in the world,” he wrote. “I’m still a work in progress but you have given three perfect beautiful boys. I love you all til the moon and back.”
The post was followed a day later with a video of his new son, with Diplo clarifying that it was his child. He also stated he hadn’t met Pace yet, due to COVID-19 travel restrictions.
“So I had an entire ass baby during quarantine,” he wrote. “I was hesitant to post him because not only does he already had a better haircut than me.”
“But also because I haven’t met him yet since we are separated by a million miles and closed borders. His name is Pace, he and his mommy are super healthy and happy and I’m going to meet them as soon as we turn a corner on this world shutdown.”
Diplo being separated from his newborn son by a pandemic suggests a more serious, meditative tone of S2 of What Would Diplo Do?, and we’re all about it. Between this and his February São Paulo concert ending mid-set due to a shooting in the crowd, there’s a lot to work with.
