Wow, That Simpsons Theme Park Happened Pretty Quickly

Take a magical (and quite greasy) tour through Moe's Tavern, Apu's Kwik-E-Mart and more.

You may remember just around a week ago that Universal Studios in Orlando announced that they’d be introducing a whole bunch of real-life Simpsons landmarks to their grounds. “You’ll be able to grab a snack from Krusty Burger,” they told us, “or a squishee from Apu’s Kwik-E-Mart, and even pay tribute to a real statue of Jebediah Springfield!”

Well, it seems shit moves pretty fast in real-life pretend Springfield, because they’re already offering fans a peek inside the newly expanded site. Let this rockin’ video guide you through ‘Fast Food Boulevard’, a magical place where you can drop by for a drink at Moe’s, pick up some greasy fries at the Frying Dutchman, and even be personally insulted by some pretentious, pony-tailed geek at The Android’s Dungeon & Baseball Card Shop.

Not to be cynical, but the whole venture pretty much looks like an excuse to sell more fried foods to tourists. In that sense, I guess fake Springfield isn’t all that different from most modern shopping centres. Hopefully, the Duff Beer factory will add a touch of class to the place when it opens later in the year.

Mmm, ridiculously yellow, potentially radioactive waffles from Cletus’ Chicken Shack!

An inside look at Moe’s Tavern. If you squint, the guy in the purple could be Barney.

Yeah, this is probably gonna be a common reaction from most tourists.
