How Old Are Your Ears?

A new one-and-a-half minute YouTube put together by ASAPScience will determine the age of your ears compared to the average person. It will probably also ruin your day.

The different frequencies will be audible to you depending on how nicely you’ve kept your inner-ear hair cells; if you go to a lot of concerts, or listen to music too loud, your ears are probably as old as mine. (Just under 40, apparently. Eeshk.)

To get the most accurate results, adjust the quality to the highest resolution of 1080p, and listen with headphones. Also, discount the 19kHz frequency, because YouTube’s compression screwed it up.

Watch The Trailer For Cory Monteith’s Final Film:

On July 13, after years of struggle with drug addiction, 31-year-old Glee star Cory Monteith was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room. The tragedy elicited a huge outpouring of grief from the show’s fans and Monteith’s friends. Before he died, he’d finished up shooting two films: Josh C. Waller’s McCanick and Gia Milan’s All The Wrong Reasons — and the trailer for the former has just been released.

In McCanick, Monteith plays Simon Weeks, a newly-released drug-addicted criminal with a damning secret about a narcotics detective (David Morse), who tries to bring him down. “The character [Monteith] plays is this drug-addicted street hustler, and he was wanting to tap into things from his youth — which he’s been very open about publicly,” the director told EW. “I think he saw the role as an opportunity for catharsis.”

Game Of Thrones Sucks Without VFX

Spin VFX, the visual effects team behind Game Of Thrones, wanted to remind you how responsible they are for your favourite show. They’ve published a reel showcasing how much is theirs, and how much is real.

It turns out not much is real.

This Charming Charlie!

Lauren LoPrete is a San Francisco-based graphic designer, and also a genius. On her This Charming Charlie tumblr, she takes old panels of Peanuts, ditches the words, and replaces them with lyrics by The Smiths.

It’s about as morose as Garfield Without Garfield — and somehow everyone still remains in character.
