And so concludes the Haim versus Los Campesinos Twitter feud of 2013. Well played, everybody.

This is how you pull off a YouTube prank for good, not evil

Tom Mabe, some cowboy-ish dude who’s self-described on his own YouTube channel as ‘America’s Funniest Prankster’, used his skills for good recently, staging a kinda intervention disguised as an elaborate prank on a friend who’d recently been convicted of his fifth DUI, in order to try and scare him into NOT DOING STUPID SHIT ANYMORE.

While his friend was passed out from another bender, Mabe and his crew lay him up in a fake hospital room, and told him the year was 2023 and that he’d been in a coma for 10 years. They even put together a fake TV news report, citing “President Hilary Clinton’s vow to attack Canada”, Miley’s meth-cooking convictions, and Justin Bieber’s 10-year anniversary with “lifetime partner”, NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. Needless to say, he figured shit out soon enough.

But, just as the internet was about to shout ‘FAKE!”, things took a sombre turn. “Dennis! You’ve got five f**king DUIs, it’s not funny,” Mabe yells at his friend at the end of the clip. “You could’ve f**king lost your daughter. Dude, you’ve gotta stop f**king doing this.”

And then everyone serious’d.
