While You Were Sleeping, Larry David Was Playing Golf With Obama

And no one even got a decent photo of it. Also, Patton Oswalt's two-part tweeting session was a thing of beauty.

Robots are stealing all our stand-up comedy jobs

Scientific research is the all-important key to understanding our future. That’s why researchers in London programmed a robot to deliver a stand-up comedy set over the weekend.

His name is ‘RoboThespian’, and he had some okay one-liners, like “I never really know how to start — which is probably because I run off Windows 8.” and “I once dated a Macbook. It didn’t work because she was all ‘iThis’ and ‘iThat’.” In other words, robot comedy classics.

In somewhat related news at the intersection of comedy and technology, real-life comedian Patton Oswalt hilariously confused the hell out of his followers with some expert two-part tweeting overnight:

Now that’s comedy, RoboThespian. Check out the rest right here.

We can’t believe nobody got a proper photo of Larry David’s golf game with Obama

Straight from the “Please make this a real sitcom!” part of our dreams, comes this news: Curb Your Enthusiasm‘s Larry David and America’s Barack Obama, the two leaders of the free world (or something), apparently pal’ed around all weekend together in Martha’s Vineyard (the East Coast’s playground for the rich and powerful and bald), and capped off the getaway with a round of golf yesterday.

Unfortunately, nobody managed to grab a pic of the two together in the same shot. We can only imagine it went something like this, and now the President is probably dead.

David Lynch made you some coffee

Films have been ridiculously low on David Lynch’s list of priorities lately — last month, the director released a frightening blues-inspired album, and now he’s turned his attention to coffee. Uh, what?

As he announced on Twitter over the weekend, the ‘David Lynch Signature Cup Organic Coffee’ range just hit stores in the US; it’s available in a light roast ‘Organic House Blend’, a medium roast ‘Organic Espresso Roast’, and a dark roast ‘Organic Decaf House Blend’. You can order the coffee here; like his movies, they will keep you up all night. (You can have that lame one, Robo-Thespian).

Remember when we told you that Prince joined Twitter last week and that he showed a surprising awareness of memes? We were more accurate than we realised.

Behold the cover art to his new single, ‘Breakfast Can Wait’. The internet is already a better place.
