TV On The Radio Did A Surprisingly Relaxing Cover Of The ‘Game Of Thrones’ Theme In Brisbane Last Night

At least they didn't play 'The Rains Of Castamere'.

At their gig at the Tivoli in Brisbane last night, TV On The Radio turned some downtime between songs into a jam of the theme from Game Of Thrones, which may be the first time hearing that song has relaxed people as opposed to sending them into a frenzy of anticipated grief and horror. The lyrics are pretty simple; lead singer Tunde Adebimpe just calls out “Mother of Dragons!” and “Arya Stark!” occasionally, which weirdly works even if he neglected to throw a “Valar Morghulis” in there somewhere.

It’s just as well they only played the GoT theme song, because if they started playing ‘The Rains Of Castamere’ that could’ve caused a stampede of terrified patrons trying to flee an impending massacre. Be wary of that if you’re ever at a National gig.
