TLC Will Have A Slumber Party With You If You Contribute To Their New Kickstarter

Hang with T-Boz and Chilli for a cool $5,000.

Here are some words you’ve wanted to see since you were an awkward nine-year-old wearing a bandana and cargo pants while making weird references about “scrubs” that you didn’t entirely understand: T-Boz and Chilli need your help.

No, they don’t want to finally start up that girl gang you’ve been writing to them about for the last 15 years. The girls from TLC have today announced their intention to produce their fifth and final album.

But, because being a ’90s R&B, crop-top-clad megastar just doesn’t pay as well as it used it, they need your cash to do it.

The two remaining members of TLC appealed to their fans this morning via a new Kickstarter campaign. “Your loyalty and support throughout the past 20 years motivates us to do our best work,” they said. “Without you, we wouldn’t have ten top 10 singles and four number 1 singles. We wouldn’t have won five Grammy awards or sold 65 million records worldwide. Without you, we wouldn’t have become the most successful girl group of all time!”

Soz, Spice Girls.

Despite embarking on a huge 20th anniversary world tour last year that saw them raking in giant floppy hat-loads of cash, TLC claim they need to turn to crowdfunding in order to retain creative control of their new work.

“Our final album will stay true to the TLC sound … We write music that people relate to…timeless music. No matter the trends, we feel like our music is always relevant,” their Kickstarter reads. “You’ll always have a guy hanging out the passenger side! And sometimes you’ll feel damn unpretty! We will continue to make music for EVERYONE, music that’s UNIVERSAL, TOUCHABLE.”

What’s the bet those last few words will be the title of their new album?

Anyway, whatever you think about their reasoning for the campaign, the rewards alone seem to be a pretty good reason to pledge.

For $1,000, either T-Boz or Chilli will go to a movie with you then chill afterwards to “talk about the movie, life … or whatever else you want”.

For $2,000 Chilli will lead you in a workout class then spend the full day with you.

And for $5,000 either of the girls will join you for a full-on SLUMBER PARTY.

If that doesn’t deserve a midday TLC dance-break I don’t know what does.

You can contribute to the Kickstarter (read: become best friends with TLC) over here.
