The origins of the extremely distressing and petty feud between Dwayne The Rock Johnson and Vin Diesel is both Shakespearian in scope and messily entertaining. And in a recent profile for Rolling Stone, Mr Dwayne Johnson absolutely removed any hope of the hatchet being buried between the two of them. It’s super petty.

To recap, the fight played out mainly through shady Instagram posts, including one where The Rock implied Diesel was a “candy ass”, which are obviously fighting words. But the implications of the whole stoush is that the next Fast and the Furious car film is potentially delayed to 2020.

The new Rolling Stone profile starts off sounding rather inspirational, like a grown man really trying to be an adult.

“Vin and I had a few discussions, including an important face-to-face in my trailer,” he said. “And what I came to realise is that we have a fundamental difference in philosophies on how we approach movie making and collaborating. It took me some time, but I’m grateful for that clarity, whether we work together again or not.”

Sounds good, sounds like there could be scope for the famous fast car franchise to keep going ahead. However, when asked if he’d consider working with Vin Diesel again, Johnson replied:

“I’m not quite sure. But I wish him all the best, and I harbour no ill will there, just because of the clarity we have.”

But then because The Rock is a messy bench, he adds on:

“Actually, you can erase that last part about ‘no ill will.’ We’ll just keep it with the clarity.”

RIP, Fast and the Furious. It was a pleasure knowing you.
