The Director Of ‘The Lego Movie’ Had The Perfect Response To Getting Snubbed For An Oscar Nomination
Everything IS awesome.
This year’s Oscar nominations were announced earlier today our time, and one of the bigger travesties is the complete snubbing the Academy dealt to The Lego Movie, which didn’t even receive a nod for Best Animated Feature. People are not impressed.
Bizarre that the Lego Movie isn’t up for the Best Animated Feature Oscar. Apparently audience enjoyment isn’t one of the criteria

Delighted at my little brother’s Oscar nomination! If he wins, he’s promised to accept it on behalf of ‘The Lego Movie’. — Mark Gatiss (@Markgatiss) January 15, 2015
I’m not surprised the Lego Movie didn’t get any Oscar nominations…I found all the performances a bit stiff. I’ll let myself out.

Rather than take it personally, Lego Movie director Phil Lord responded in the best and classiest way possible.

He also thanked everyone who worked on the film, and generally came across as a super nice guy.
This is not a tragedy. Congrats to incredible crew and cast of The Lego Movie, who made a classic.

So silver lining, possibly? It’s still a bad decision, but at least we all know which movie SHOULD’VE been there.
