Sydney Trains Are An Absolute Shitshow And Commuters Are Pissed
They apologise for the inconvenience.
Chances are you’re already aware of this, but the train situation in Sydney last night was an absolute fucking mess. Major delays saw commuters trapped on crowded stations and in unairconiditioned carriages during peak hour, with Sydney Trains blaming “staff availability and earlier incidents” for the chaos. That means there weren’t enough drivers.
This wasn’t unexpected either. Back in November, unions warned that changes to timetables would result in long delays, and here we are.
Exhausted Sydneysiders — those who had enough room to use their phones, anyway — vented their frustration of social media.

cheers to sydney trains for cancelling every train I’ve tried to ride this week, and also to the guy who slogged me in the face with his briefcase in his haste to beat me onto a train that won’t go anywhere for at least ten minutes

I assume you will be refunding everyone’s opal card spend on trains both yesterday and today? We pay you to provide a service and you haven’t provided one – end of story. When should I expect a full refund? #SydneyTrains
