J.J. Abrams has been a fairly occupied guy recently. Leaving no time for the industry’s equivalent of a nanna nap after the release of The Force Awakens last month, last night he released the trailer for an upcoming thriller he produced: 10 Cloverfield Lane.

In a statement, Abrams called the film a “blood relative” of the 2008 alien blockbuster Cloverfield (which he also produced), but during production it was called Valencia or The Cellar in an attempt to keep the concept a secret. It was also thought to be a short film.

The basic plot tells of a woman (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) waking up in a man’s basement (John Goodman) with barely any knowledge of why she’s trapped in there, except for that it’s unsafe outside — but we can probably now assume it’s because there are a heap of blood-thirsty alien monsters running the joint.

The trailer is pretty intriguing, and hopefully a good sign of what’s to come:

10 Cloverfield Lane will be released in the US on March 11.
