Spoliers for Stranger Things, obviously.

For many who watched and enjoyed Stranger Things, there was one psychic glitch that was difficult to reconcile: why did it seem like no-one in the town cared that Barb was missing? Why didn’t she get a special assembly like Will? Didn’t anyone but Nancy think it was fishy that she just straight-up disappeared?

Don’t you, forget about Barb.

Well, the Duffer Brothers who created Stranger Things have felt your frustration and have now promised to resolve Barb’s storyline (the last time we saw her she was a slimy, rotting corpse with a bug hanging out of her mouth, so this is no easy task). During an interview with the pair for IGN, Matt Duffer asserted that Barb “will not be forgotten”.

“We’ll make sure there’s some justice for Barb,” he said. “People get very frustrated, understandably, that the town doesn’t seem to be really dealing with Barb. It’s not like her parents are like, ‘Oh, Barb left. She died!’”

Matt went on to say that the time period in season one is actually really condensed, with the action only taking place over the course of six or seven days, so that’s why there’s no huge aftermath in the wake of Barb’s disappearance. “Part of what we want to do with hypothetical season two is to explore the repercussions of everything that happened,” Matt said.
