Oh man, I just. Oh geez.

The Daily Show Jon Stewart finale special has just wrapped up. I have never hated Australian geoblocking more than at this moment, but snippets are coming through thanks to the work of internet heroes who painstakingly record this stuff for other people’s benefit — for instance, the massive number of correspondents who came back to say goodbye, including Hillary Clinton, Senator John McCain, Steve Carell, Darth Vader, Chris Christie, Stewart’s longtime nemesis Bill O’Reilly, and a bearded Elmo.

One part in particular is standing out so far. Former Daily Show correspondent Stephen Colbert, Stewart’s disciple and foil, returned to give a heartfelt off-script thank-you speech on behalf of everyone who’s worked with him. Stewart sat through it miserably, before finishing things up with a giant grouphug with all the correspondents and writers. It is one of the loveliest things you will watch in a long time, and makes an internet warning that you might be about to cry accurate for once.

Oh man, I just. Oh geez.
