Solange Attacked Jay Z In A Hotel Elevator At A Party Following Last Week’s Met Gala
There is video, and it is insane.
Holy shit. I guess we all knew that Solange was the black sheep of the Knowles family, what with her love of indie jams and hipster clothes, but this is just insane.
Overnight, those beacons of Pulitzer-winning journalism TMZ, scored an intense video of Beyonce’s sister Solange going all Ralph Macchio on Beyonce’s husband Jay Z in a hotel elevator. In the surveillance footage — which was taken from the Standard Hotel, located in New York’s Meatpacking District, where the gang had been attending a post-Met Gala party on May 5 — Solange is seen unleashing a torrent of punches, kicks and slaps on Jay Z, and… nobody has any idea why.
“A large man — who appears to be a bodyguard — attempts to hold Solange back, but she manages to connect at least three times… Solange throws a kick and Jay grabs her foot, but never attempts to strike her. Beyoncé stands by without getting physically involved,” explains TMZ, via helpful commentary.

The million dollar question, obviously, is “What the fuck did Jay Z do?”… and nobody seems to have an answer yet. Gossip blogs have gone into overdrive, assessing the couple’s odd demeanour at a Brooklyn Nets game over the weekend (it’s Jake Gyllenhaal’s fault!) and getting all Sherlock-ian on this telling prayer Beyonce posted to Instagram just days after the incident.
Whatever the case, Beyonce’s inevitable Lifetime movie just got a really dramatic scene added to it.
