The eventual union of Australian politics with dank club bangers is one step closer today. Shadow Infrastructure Minister, one-time Labor leadership contender and working-class hero Anthony Albanese is taking a leaf out of Tony Abbott’s book, throwing on some speed dealer sunnies and hitting the decks at Bella Union in Carlton next Monday night to bring on the revolution with the power of some sick left-wing beats.

With tickets going for a hefty $35-50, this isn’t your typical Marrickville RSL DJ set, and it’s not yet clear what hits DJ AlbaNEEZ NUTS has got lined up, but you’d hope for a trap version of Jimmy Barnes’ ‘Working Class Man’, Pendulum’s remix of the ABC theme song and a ‘Solidarity Forever/Sandstorm’ mash-up for the ages.
