Four days have passed since the death of iconic musician David Bowie, and tributes have continued to flow. The video for his final single, fittingly titled ‘Lazarus’, broke several viewing records on the day of his death, while his producer, Tony Visconti, confirmed that the song and accompanying album, Blackstar, were intended as “a parting gift” for an audience unaware of the seriousness of Bowie’s cancer.

Earlier today, on Triple J’s weekly Like a Version, Australian singer/songwriter Sarah Blasko prepared a tribute of her own. Her cover of Bowie’s ‘Life On Mars’, arguably his most recognisable and long-lasting hit, has already begun to garner praise online as a passionate, emotional and fitting homage to one of history’s greatest artistic talents.
