Princess Beatrice Accidentally Slashed Ed Sheeran’s Face With A Sword
Just a flesh wound.
Word of advice: don’t get on Princess Beatrice’s bad side. The Princess of York proved that she wasn’t one to be messed with at a recent party in Windsor, where she accidentally cut up singer Ed Sheeran’s face…with a ceremonial sword.
Sheeren was rushed to hospital, where he received stitches on a cut under his right eye, after Beatrice accidentally nicked him while performing a mock knighting ceremony on singer James Blunt. According to UK tabloid The Sun, the princess was preparing to tap Blunt on the shoulder with the sword, but inadvertently cut Sheeran, who was standing behind her, when she raised the weapon above her head.
In retrospect the seventh in line to the British throne probably should have taken a look behind her before swinging a sword around. Then again, I don’t get invited to that many parties featuring medieval weaponry, so I’m certainly not an expert on the subject.
“A couple of the guests said it could have been worse and he could have been blinded in the eye but Ed really played it down,” a source told The Sun.
News of the bizarre accident first became public after Sheeran was photographed with a fan, and could be seen sporting a visible scar.
