People Were Extremely Mad About The Lack Of Reaction To That Slur On ‘MKR’ Last Night

During the last week, you’ve probably seen a lot of dramatic promos about a My Kitchen Rules contestant named Josh, saying a Very Bad Word during a dinner party.

The MKR ad, which was running on both TV and social media, depicted Josh (who is the Mean Contestant of this season) calling his fellow contestant, Amy, a “slut”. The promo shows the other contestants responding in obvious shock, and then Manu saying, “Can I speak to both of you please?” and then off camera saying that he was “personally uncomfortable” during the dinner, to who we presume is Josh and his wife Amy (different Amy).

The weird thing was that when the actual episode aired last night, it did not go down the way that the promo implied. Although the other contestants did look shocked when Josh said, “Thanks slut!” when Amy set down his meal, all their comments were in voiceover. No-one said anything at the actual dinner party.

Manu and Pete did not respond at the time either, which implies that Manu’s private words to the contestants did not actually happen at this dinner party and may not be related at all.

Since the episode aired, viewers have bombarded MKR‘s Facebook and Twitter criticising the producer’s choice to keep the comment in the episode, when Josh experienced no repercussions at all. Overwhelmingly, people are calling for Josh to be booted from the competition.

Yesterday while being interviewed on the Kyle and Jackie O Show, Josh claimed that he had been “blackmailed” by the producers into say provocative things on the show. “They [the producers] were saying if I didn’t do certain things, they were going to portray that differently,” he told the radio hosts. “They were telling me how they were going to edit it unless I played ball.”

So look, who knows what to believe. Remember the good old days when the worst thing about cooking shows was Heston?
